Residency June-July 2026
Hosted by Lapunyah Art Gallery in Chinchilla, the residency brought together six women from across the Western Downs, working alongside myself as lead artist, to investigate place through walking, collecting, natural dyeing, spinning roadside cotton litter and making. Working with locally gathered materials and ongoing mentoring, the project explores the layered histories of the region and the ways hand-making can foster conversation, connection and new ways of seeing place. The resulting body of work will tour the Western Downs over the next three years alongside selected works from the Western Downs Regional Council collection.
Supported by the Regional Arts Fund (RAF)—an Australian Government program managed by Regional Arts Australia and delivered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance—Reparative Threads explored care, connection and repair through expanded textile practice.
